john lewis christmas

Sorry to be yet another person going on about this year's John Lewis Christmas advert, but have you seen it yet? I must admit to being a bit disappointed when I first saw it (because I remember how beautiful last year's was); that is until the very last scene when the motive for the snowman's journey is revealed and I got a huge lump in my throat. Heart-warming stuff!

I'm not normally allowed to think about Christmas until well into December because of it being my brother's birthday in the first week. But last week I went to the John Lewis Christmas launch party at The Attic/Soda Bar in Cardiff and it's got me SO excited for the season! John Lewis really know how to throw a party; the venue was beautifully decorated and I was greeted with a glass of champers, shown around this year's various themed collections and told to help myself to Christmas decorations, foodie treats and beauty samples from the pic 'n' mix bar. I had a great evening chatting to the design team, being shown the new NARS Andy Warhol make-up collection and meeting fellow bloggers, including Mia from By Mimi, Georgina from Makeup-Pixi3, Amy from Bonjour Cupcake! and Chantelle from Daisy Dayz, amongst others. As well as filling up on cocktails and canapes (and eyeing up the contents of my gift bag - more decorations, beauty products and this cheeky chap), it was great to see what John Lewis have got going on in the way of Christmas collections. This year they've selected five themes for the festive season: Theatre, Christmas Holiday, Winterland, Lapland and New Japan. I was instantly drawn to the muted tones and cosy textures of the Winterland collection (as you might expect given some of my recent posts) but I've also got my eye on a few tree decorations from the New Japan collection.
Which theme do you like best?
I've put a few pictures of the event on my Instagram if you'd like to see.

loved all of the themes but winterland was my fave. Really want that Edie Nars box now but I need to buy family members presents and not more for myself xx

I'm obsessed with the Winterland theme and also the Lapland theme. It seems since I've had children I've rediscovered my childhood self. COLOURS. FUN!
