One for you South Welsh readers: another Buffalo Boutique is happening this Monday night (18th March)! Buffalo Boutique began around three years ago when a gap in the Cardiff vintage market was identified and a boutique night out was created, featuring vintage and handmade clothing for guys and girls, DJs, designer cocktails and cupcakes. Since then, Buffalo Boutique has grown from strength to strength, becoming a unique shopping adventure revolutionising the fashion habits of Cardiff. Buffalo Boutique takes place once a month in the lovely Buffalo Bar in Cardiff from 7pm onwards. The event is coordinated by Kay Russant, the Events Manager for Buffalo Bar (and 10 Feet Tall) and Politics student Pippa Reid who is also involved in Cardiff University's Fashion Society and who is passionate about vintage fashion and hopes to go into buying after university.
I went along to Buffalo Boutique last month and loved the eclectic vibe and diverse mix of vintage clothing and homewares and handmade jewellery, as well as the fashion show - the latest collection from Urban Outfitters modelled by students - and Hendrick's gin served in teacups! I met some awesome deigner-makers, including Emily of Mati Stuff and Cat of Molten City (I bought some gorgeous tribal-inspired earrings from her) and loved that I could pop downstairs to Buffalo for a slice of homemade cheesecake :)
